“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'” ~ Matthew 11:28-29, NLT
“So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.” ~ Hebrews 4:9-11, NLT
“And He said to them, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.” For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.” ~ Mark 6:31, NKJV
I Hear Your Delicate Whisper Calling Me to Come
Lord, I can sense Your Spirit stirring in me, I can hear Your delicate whisper calling me to come. You call me to rest in You, Lord and I want to. But it will be just a minute. I can’t rest yet … but I will. I promise.
I know I need to. I know I am thirsty, depleted … exhausted. I know I need to sit with You and drink from Your living water. That’s why You call me to rest — not to stop my busyness, but to rest IN YOU so that my soul will be restored.

Your lovingkindness is better than life! My lips will praise You, my heart will welcome Your presence, and my mind will stop its racing and contemplation and worry … when I seek You first.
For Your presence is a soothing balm to me. Forgive me, Lord when I hesitate to answer Your call. Forgive me when I think I know best and decide I don’t have time to stop, or I don’t have time to rest. You have a way of multiplying my time, of rearranging the clock when I do as You ask and come away with You awhile.
You know me better than I know myself and You know when I need to rest in You.

Help me be steadfast and faithful to You. That is the desire of my heart — to be holy and pleasing to You, Lord, responding quickly to Your call, regardless of the mountain of responsibility before me.
You Call Me to Rest in You, Lord
You, Lord, are my Shepherd, I shall not want. You make me to lie down in green pastures; You lead me beside the still waters where I may find rest.
And You restore my soul.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen
