“The Lord also will roar from Zion,
And utter His voice from Jerusalem;
The heavens and earth will shake;
But the Lord will be a shelter for His people,
And the strength of the children of Israel.” ~ Joel 3:16, NKJV
“When a strong young lion
stands growling over a sheep it has killed,
it is not frightened by the shouts and noise
of a whole crowd of shepherds.
In the same way, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will come down and fight on Mount Zion.
The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will hover over Jerusalem
and protect it like a bird protecting its nest.
He will defend and save the city;
He will pass over it and rescue it.” ~ Isaiah 31:4-5, NLT
“Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, ‘Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.’” ~ Revelation 5:4-5, NLT
Lion of Judah, My King
Father, what a mighty God You are, full of power and wonder, beautiful in holiness. You are the Lion of Judah, my King. You are my protector and my shield.
Will You roar from on high and scatter my enemy? O Lion of Judah, the evil one has been relentless and vicious in his attacks. But I know who I am. I am Yours and You are mine and no evil can come near my tent. I am secure beneath the shadow of Your wing.
Take me by Your righteous right hand and strengthen me to resist the enemy. He has no authority over me for I am washed in the blood of the Lamb, sanctified and adopted as Your own. I am mighty in You — You have made me more than a conqueror.
Victory is mine, Lord
Because of You.
You are the Lion of Judah. At the sound of Your thundering voice, the enemy is set to flight. In my mind’s eye, I can see him creeping back into the shadows like a jackal running from its predator.
You tell me to fear not, for You are with me, to not be dismayed because You are my God. You promise to help and defend me … and I know You will.
No weapon formed against me will prosper because greater are You, Almighty God, in me, than the enemy who is in the world. He makes a lot of noise, and sometimes I get rattled, but I know that I know You are with me.
You Have Redeemed Me, I Am Yours
Will You, O Lion of Judah, show Yourself strong on my behalf just as You promised? Let out a mighty roar to remind the evil one that I am Your child and he cannot touch me. You have redeemed me … I am Yours. Lead me in the way everlasting.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
