I am safe in God's amazing grace

I am safe in God’s amazing grace

Amazing grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found — was blind but now I see.

‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far …

Safe thus far, Lord. Yes! You have brought me safe thus far — never failing me, never leaving me, always abounding with grace toward Your child. Thank You, Lord. You are an amazing God, faithful always, even when I am not.

Please forgive me for those times I fail You and take matters into my own hands. Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation and uphold me with Thy spirit free. Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me.

Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me bless Your holy Name, for You Lord, are a great God, a good, good Father. I love You so much — I don’t know where I would be without You.

You give me peace when the enemy assails.

You give me joy when my heart breaks with sorrow.

You give me courage when responsibilities overwhelm.

Thank You Lord.

I want to be all that You have created me to be — to fulfill Your purposes in me, to walk steadfastly in the calling You have placed on my life. I so want to serve You with my whole heart and with passion.

Lord, I know many others who feel the same way — they are sold out to You, fully devoted to You and the work of their hands. But, Lord, many days we are weak or crushed beneath the weight. The more we press into You, the more Satan pushes back and sometimes we are too tired to resist. Please forgive us Lord when we become complacent to his tactics. Bathe us in fortitude and pure grit to withstand him and his evil ways.

Greater are You within us, than he that is in the world. You have made us to be the head and not the tail. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood for Your service. We belong to You, O Mighty God. That knowledge is too great to ignore — thank You Lord.

You have promised to be our strength, to replace our weaknesses with Your power. We go forth in Your Name for Your glory  — not ours. Guide our steps, Lord. Keep us on the straight and narrow path of Your will for our lives. Guide us by Your light, Your peace, and Your love.

We want to be a blessing to You, Lord.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen

Have you read Faith Notes ~ Eliza Downer: You Give and Take Away. Blessed Be Your Name?

For starters, what a great name! Eliza Downer. Eliza is one of those connections that absolutely would not have happened without the hand of God orchestrating our meeting, albeit online. She had commented on a thread I was following on facebook and the Lord pointed His finger from heaven and said, “That one. Ask Eliza to share on Faith Notes.” So I did.

And I’m so glad I did.

What a precious, Godly young woman she is.  Eliza has lost it all to find Christ. She is learning the hard lesson of surrendering her dreams with complete abandon to the One she trusts, because trusting Him is all she can do in her circumstances. But Jesus is her sure place and He is great at wiping her tears when they freely fall.

Here’s a glimpse into Eliza’s heart that I found while perusing her blog:

“Three years ago, I cried before the Lord as I hung up my ballet shoes for what I thought would be the last time. Tears streamed down my face as I proclaimed, “You give and take away. Blessed be your name.”

“It seemed as though all my hopes and dreams were being ripped from my heart and shattered before my eyes. However, the Lord had a greater plan and purpose in that pain. Sometimes God crushes dreams only to build them up into something altogether more different and beautiful.”

And now it’s your turn to meet Miss Eliza Downer.
