Being paralyzed in spirit is just as real as being paralyzed in body.
Being paralyzed in spirit is just as real as being paralyzed in body.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water … Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” ~John 5:2-3, 5-6

Lord, great is Your mercy. Your compassion soothes me, Your longsuffering gives me hope to overcome the difficult places.

These are truths that I stand by and believe upon, but my spirit is gripped by something that has paralyzed me. Courage to move forward seeps through the broken places. Determination to do that which I know to do, gathers dust on a hidden shelf in my heart.

I Remain Paralyzed in My Spirit

I literally feel immobilized.

Is it depression? Fear? Lethargy?

I don’t know, Lord. But I hear You calling me. I know You are stirring within me.

Yet I remain paralyzed in my spirit, unable or unwilling to respond.

Deliver me, Lord. Identify the cause that I might rebuke its hold, in Jesus’s Name. You have authority over all things, even this. Reveal the source to me that I might resist and walk in victory.

God Has the Power to Heal the Paralyzed in Spirit

Strengthen my body, mind, and spirit to do Your will, to accomplish Your purposes in my life.

I will take up my mat and walk ... paralyzed no more.
I will take up my mat and walk … paralyzed no more.

Heal me, Lord. You have the power to heal the paralyzed in spirit — it is just as real as being paralyzed in body. Thank You for revealing this to me.

That is the first step in overcoming this infirmity.

I rejoice in You, Lord.

With thanksgiving I step out in faith to respond to the stirring in my spirit.

I know that obstacles will come to hinder me and block my path, but I choose to heed Your call and obey Your instructions to step out, step up, and see the salvation of my God.

Fill me with courage.

Fill me with perseverance.

Draw me out of the deep waters that have paralyzed my spirit so I might serve You more and follow closer in Your footsteps.

Without You, I am nothing, but with You I am a force to be reckoned with.

I love You, Lord. You are my all in all, my Savior and my Lord. Without You, I am nothing, but with You I am a force to be reckoned with. You have called me for such a time as this. I will work to fulfill Your purposes.

I will take up my mat and walk.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,

Amen
