Advent: Hope
” This I recall to my mind,
Therefore I have hope.
“Through the Lord’s mercies, we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“’The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I hope in Him!’” ~ Lamentations 3:21-24, NKJV
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” ~ Hebrews 10:23, NKJV
“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love,” ~ Psalm 33:18, NIV
Great is His Faithfulness
Lord, Your steadfast love never ceases to amaze me. Even on the messiest, hardest days, You remain, therefore I have hope. Great is Your faithfulness to me.
When I sit still long enough to consider Your presence in my life, I remember how time and time again You made a way for me, or how You comforted me with heartfelt love. I recall the touch of Your hand, Your promises kept, Your healing power … and I find hope.
When I consider the Child in the manger this Christmas season and acknowledge what He endured on the Cross for me, I am humbled by the depth of Your love. I experience Your grace that flows like a river strong over my life and is sufficient for whatever I face.
Therefore, I have hope.
I have this assurance, Lord because You are who You say You are, You do what You say You will do. The righteous will never go begging for bread. The lame shall walk and the blind shall see. Behold! You are the God of all flesh! Is anything too hard for You?
You are the hope of the world, of my heart. I can place my burdens in Your arms and expect with confidence and solid certainty that You will take care of all that concerns me.
God Loves Me, Therefore I Have Hope
How beautiful You are! How perfect. You are the Supreme Ruler over all the earth … and You love me, You know my name. In my distress, I call out to You and You hear me — and You respond.
Therefore I have hope.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
