ADVENT: Peace
“For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ~ Isaiah 9:6, NKJV
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character],
Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].” ~ Isaiah 26:3, AMP
“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” ~ John 14:27, AMP
Steady My Heart, Lord. I Need Your Peace
Lord, You are the God of all comfort, my refuge in the difficult place. You are Wonderful, Counselor … the Prince of Peace. Oh, how I need Your peace. Will You steady my heart?
Your love is so much stronger than whatever troubles me. I need You like I never have before, yet … I’m thankful because I know You like never before.
This difficult place is teaching me who You are — the Keeper of my soul. I am learning Your faithfulness to me, Your long-suffering. I am gaining an understanding of Your mercy that I have never known before.
Chesed. Mercy. Your steadfast covenant love …
I am a recipient of Your covenant love and I am so grateful.
So why am I lacking peace?
I know You as Jehovah Shalom, the Lord my Peace … the Prince of Peace. That is who You are. I have no need to fear an unknown future. I have no need to worry and fret, to be frustrated by the chaos of this world. I have no need for those things, and yet I struggle.
Forgive me, Lord. Turn my eyes toward You and remind me who I am to You. When my mind is stayed on You, You will keep me in perfect peace. As I call out to You, hear me in my distress and bathe me in the light of Your love. In Your presence is where I want to be. In Your presence, I will find peace.
Lord, You Are My Prince Of Peace
Bless You, Lord. I give You honor, glory, and praise.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so

Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love for you to share what’s on your heart in the comments below. Scroll a little farther down and you’ll see where you can leave your comments. Together, we can find the nearness of God in our darkest moments.
Sweet blessings to you,
Nan, please pray for me as I am a member of a United Methodist Church.
Regina, I don’t know the needs of your heart, but I know the One who does. He is El Roi, the God who sees you and knows all about it. I know you know Him too. Bless His holy Name! I’m asking Him right now to bathe you in His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Oftentimes, He doesn’t remove the difficult place, but He makes Himself known in the midst of it and we find contentment and a sense of well-being … because we find Jesus drawing near. This is what I’m praying for you. He gives us wisdom and grace upon grace, and He promises to direct our steps. Thank you for reaching out. I’m adding you to my prayer journal and will continue to pray for you. Merry Christmas, Nan
Heavenly Father, I ask your Blessings upon Nan, continue to fill her with your Mercy & Grace, renew daily the anointing of your Holy Spirit upon her, her loved ones & this ministry. Sometimes Lord the burdens we face seem to much for us but you always give us the Strength we need as you place your Song in our hearts. Hug Nan today, let her know just how much she is loved by you, Amen Lord Hear our prayers. ( One of my favorite hugs from our Lord is Zeph 3:17 ~ He renews you by His Love ~ He shouts for Joy over you).
Thank you Nan for your faithfulness,
Oh, Mary Ann, thank you. You made me cry thankful tears. What would we do without our Jesus? I, too, love Zephaniah 3:17 and have written about it several times. What a glorious promise of God’s love for us. Thank You for the reminder. I cherish your prayers. Sometimes, life is just hard, but sometimes the spiritual warfare is fierce. My next book, The Offering: How to Emerge from Shattered Faith is with my editor now, and boy howdy has the warfare amped up. Please continue to pray a hedge of protection around me and especially my family. I read just this morning that as a Christian author, “We stand at the gates of hell and redirect traffic.” The enemy is not happy and he is throwing out his best shots, but greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world. I am encouraged by your thoughtful message. Thank you my friend, Nan
