When I Am Weary, You Give Me Rest
Father, Your great love enfolds me, wrapping me in the warmth of Your abiding presence. I’m so grateful for the touch of Your hand. You refresh my soul when I am weary, and You replenish — restore — my sorrow with joy.
Great is your faithfulness, O Lord! My hope is in You, therefore, I find my peace in You … You comfort and refresh me. Blessed be Your Name.
Life in this fallen world is hard, especially in the days we are living. I am easily overcome. Help me call Your Name above the howling storm, for You respond to the sound of Your Name and steady my heart. You draw near in my difficult place.
In the shelter of Your arms is where I want to be. Hide me beneath the shadow of Your wings until these calamities pass me by. I can hear Your heartbeat there, I can rest in Your love, and I know I am helped.
You refresh my soul, Lord, as I seek after You. You turn my mourning into dancing, and my heart is filled with praise. As I consider the magnificence of who You are, I am humbled at the thought of how much You love me. Help me keep my eyes on You. Help me respond when You bid me to come and sit with You awhile. Please forgive me when I tell You I’m too busy, or I act as though I didn’t hear You. I feel ashamed when I do these things. But You are longsuffering with me and You always persist in getting my attention. Thank You, Lord … thank You for loving me in spite of me.
Refresh Me, Lord, and I Will be Strengthened
You refresh my soul and break me free of weariness. You cause me to laugh and to sleep soundly knowing You are with me and I am held in Your hands … You quiet me with Your love.
I love You, Lord. Receive my offering of praise.
