Today is the time frame of the Great I Am ... He is!

Glorious brushstrokes from the hand of God awaken the dawn as indigo blue gives way to fuschia and tangerine orange. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is yet to be, but today — today is the moment in which we live and is the time frame of the Great I AM. His grace IS sufficient. Great IS His faithfulness. He IS a very present help in times of trouble.

He is.

Right now. Each moment of each new day.

God’s Time Frame is Now, Not Later

As I walk through this valley of difficulty, the Lord reveals Himself to me in sweet and tender ways. He holds me when I cry. He surrounds me when I’m afraid of tomorrow. He reminds me of His eternal purposes when I begin to drown in despair.

And He reminds me I am His own.

Frontotemporal Dementia is not for sissies. Taking care of my best friend and husband of forty-one years and watching his brain die, his body tilt and sway with balance issues, his frantic call in the night because he heard our beloved Blue barking (Blue passed away five years ago) is almost unbearable at times.

And yet … The Great I Am is. God remains in my present. His time frame is now.

He is my strength when my own strength fails me.

He is my peace when I simply want to run away from it all.

He is my joy and my laughter when I think I might drown in my sorrow.

He is! He sees ... He knows. His time frame is now.

He is! He sees … He knows.

We are not alone in our broken and difficult places, for our God draws near to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit. Knowing that the Great I Am is in this hard time frame with me comforts me beyond words.

One of my favorite names of the Lord is El Roi, The God-Who-Sees-Me, and knows all about it. This name was revealed in the story of Hagar, Abraham and Sarah’s maidservant. Hagar, a young pregnant woman was exiled from the family camp. The Scripture tells us that the Lord found her in the wilderness — her difficult place. The word found implies that He was seeking after her. Our God is not far away, He is not indifferent to those things that concern us.

He pursues us with His love.

He is! He Sees … He knows

Dear One, you are loved by a magnificent God who loves you beyond comprehension. Run to Him. Call upon His beautiful Name, the Name of Jesus. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will hide you beneath the shadow of His wings until this calamity passes you by because you are His child, the apple of His eye.

I can testify to this.

He is.
