When God is silent He will give us His peace … if we are willing to trust Him.

“To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock; Do not be silent to me, lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary … the Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.” ~ Psalm 28:1-2, 7

Lord, I’m listening. I’m waiting on You for I know You hear my cries. I know You stand ready to respond to meet my needs because of Your great love.

But I can’t hear You. I can’t see Your hand working. You have become silent.

You are my Counselor, my Prince of Peace. You are my Shelter in the storm. You are my Father.

But You are silent.

When God is silent is there any unrighteousness within me?

Father, cleanse me from any unrighteousness that may lurk within me. If there be sin within me preventing holy communion with You, shine Your light that it might be exposed so I may confess it to You and be cleansed.

But if You are being silent for some eternal purpose, please help me wait on You in the silence. I trust Your heart even when I can’t see Your hand or hear Your voice. Fill me with Your peace while I wait on You. Focus my eyes on You. Turn my remembrance to Your Truth rather than listening to the lies of the enemy.

I am learning to wait in faith when God is silent, knowing He has heard me and will answer in His perfect time.

For You are God.

You are for me and not against me.

And I know when all the pieces are in place, when you have prepared me for such a time as this — I know You will speak and draw me back into the light of Your glory and reveal Your plans and purposes to me.

Thank You for Your longsuffering with me. You are so precious. What would I do without You, O Lord … what would I ever do?

I love You, Lord.
