Teach Me How to Be At Peace With All Men
Lord, You are the Prince of Peace, Your peace is within me. I need only to access it, to yield to its authority if I want to be at peace with all men, and women, and the crazy people inhabiting this earth.
People have gone crazy! I’m sure You are wounded by this, too. And angry. Your holy anger has to be simmering.
But then I remember Your long-suffering. And I remember that You expect the same from me because of Your indwelling Holy Spirit. Part of Your package-deal is long-suffering, peace … love and kindness …
I know You desire that I yield to all these things — and I try, I really do. But some people …
Some people are so frustrating with their arrogance and agendas and selfish behavior. Oy! Some days I want to pull my hair out, stomp my feet, and say exactly what I think.
But, once again, I remember You, Lord. And I remember You love them as much as You love me. I remember they have a soul that needs the saving grace of Jesus, and it helps me.
I truly desire to be at peace with all men. I long to be a peacemaker for Your Name’s sake.
Open my eyes to see others through Your eyes, through the lens of eternity.
Help me walk in love, speak Truth in love. Give me eyes of compassion to see past the behavior and remember that every behavior has a story.
I Yield to Your Instruction, Lord
Thank You, Lord. In Your strength, this is possible. I yield to Your instruction to be at peace with all men — with everyone I encounter. I promise to try my hardest.
When I am weak, You promise to be my strength. Thank You, Lord.
In the Name of Jesus I pray,
Amen
