“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” ~ Psalm 51:10-12, NKJV
“My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to My words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart,
for they bring life to those who find them,
and healing to their whole body.
Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.” ~ Proverbs 4:20-23, NLT
“May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to You,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” ~ Psalm 19:14, NLT
“Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.” ~ Matthew 5:8, NKJV
I Desire a Clean Heart, O Lord
Father, You are holy, merciful, and mighty. I desire to abide in Your presence, to be ever-aware of Your Spirit drawing near in my times of need. However, when my heart is cluttered with bad attitudes and less-than-righteous decisions, there is a break in our fellowship. Create in me a clean heart, O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Above all things, I must guard my heart against the world’s influences and the temptations and taunts of the evil one. I even need to guard my heart against myself! Your righteousness does this — Your breastplate of righteousness guards my spiritual heart: my thoughts, my emotions, my will, and my moral compass.
But I must put on Your breastplate of righteousness to guard my heart successfully. I must and I will.
Create in me a clean heart, one where You are glorified. It’s the little things … the little foxes that spoil the vine. It’s those things that I know are not of you … thoughts about others, irritation, and impatience. Grumbling and murmuring. Not always, but even a little is too much.

I have so much to be thankful for — I have been blessed by You, O Lord. Please forgive me. Purify my heart so that I might dwell in rich fellowship with You. I want to be holy as You are holy. I know this side of heaven that desire will never reach perfection, but I want You to be found in me.
Make me holy as You are holy
Renew a steadfast spirit within me and restore to me the joy of my salvation. This is my desire. Cleanse me Lord and I will be made new. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to You.
In Jesus’s Name, I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so

Sweet blessings to you,

Hi Nan Jones,
Thanks for the reply and the wonderful messages. I find myself rising and falling in my career. life has been very tough on me.
I pray for a better year and to know God more and more.
Happy new year
I stand in agreement with you for a better year and to know God more. Life is hard. It ebbs and it flows, but our God is constant — a sure place. He REMAINS steadfast. Glory! Get that in your knower and speak it over your heart and mind when the enemy whispers his lies to you.
Father, I lift my friend to you. I ask that You make Yourself known to them in very personal and tangible ways. Let them see Your hand in their life, opening and closing doors, leading them on the paths of righteousness. You promise to make the crooked places straight. You promise to bring streams in the desert. I ask these promises for my friend, that they would be encouraged and strengthened in their journey. Thank You for Your faithfulness to us. Thank You for Your steadfast, covenant love that knows no end. You are the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega … and You know our names. You know what concerns us and challenges our faith. Be found in my friend. Quicken understanding within their troubled heart and remind them that they belong to You, the Living God. Hold them fast, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, amen
Amen I needed this refreshing, renewing prayer! Thank you for sharing. Please pray that I get my joy & hunger back, I’ve been so distracted by worry & cant seem to focus when reading my Bible GOD bless you.
Thank you for your kind words. One of my greatest blessings has been coming to understand that the Lord is El Roi, The God Who Sees Me, and He knows all about it. He searches our hearts and knows our anxious thoughts. I love that! He doesn’t condemn us when He discovers anxiety and worry. He comes alongside us to strengthen us in our journey — He is a very present help in trouble. The realization of these truths has given me much gain in my battle with anxiety. I hope it will help you too.
Father, I lift my friend to You, and I ask that You would touch her by the power of Your Holy Spirit to stir a hunger and thirst within her to seek You more. You promise that when we seek You with all of our hearts, we will find You. We are standing on this promise. I rebuke the spirit of distraction from my sister in the Name of Jesus. Satan, you must flee at the mention of His great Name. You will no longer use these tactics to keep my friend away from feasting on the Bread of Life given to us to keep us strong. Holy Spirit, come alongside and open the eyes of her understanding as she reads and studies Your Word. Make it fresh and new. Make it exciting! And life-changing. Cause belly-laughter to rise up within her as she considers the joy of the Lord. Thank You for understanding our struggles. Thank You for holding us fast and gently whispering our names to come and sit awhile with You. You are our joy, our strength, and our peace. We love you, Lord. In Jesus’s Name I pray, amen
