Take hope in the knowledge that you are cherished by the One who made you—you are sheltered in the shadow of His wing, close to His heart. It is my prayer that as we get to know one another you, too, will see beyond the veil and will learn to say, “Even so, I walk in the Presence of the Lord”
With joy,
Nan
You Are My Hiding Place, Lord, Yet I Keep Peeking ~ Prayer
Lord, I feel safe with You. When the world is spinning out of control, when flames of trial are lapping at my legs, I know I can run to You. You are my hiding place — this I know very well.
But I keep peeking out at the Enemy’s ambush.
Where are You, Lord, in My Difficult Season?
The morning light felt gentle and warm against my troubled spirit. I sat on the porch sipping my coffee, Bible in lap, birds offering praise from the old Juniper tree. Peace settled over me — contentment that had been missing for quite some time as I had prayed, “Where are You, Lord in my difficult season?”
“Speak to me through Your Word, Lord. I’m listening.”
Prayer to Look to You Jesus, but the Devil is Whispering
Lord, what a wonder You are. I stand in awe at Your goodness and Your faithfulness to me. You are teaching me to look to You, Jesus — and I’m trying — but the Enemy is continuously tapping on my shoulder and whispering to me.
It’s so annoying … and distracting.
How Does God Use the Flames of Affliction in our Lives?
Some seasons of life are harder than others — they all come with purpose, but the difficult places can be very hard to overcome. How does God use the flames of affliction in our lives? Why does He choose this method?
I considered the ways of God as I struck the match and pressed its flame against the candle wick. Within moments, a globe of fire consumed the string and burned bright. I watched as the flame grew stronger, melting the aromatic candle.
Trust With LongSuffering, But a Tantrum is Brewing: A Prayer
Lord, You are my light and my salvation. Your mercy is everlasting and Your truth endures to all generations. I trust You — I really do. I’m learning to trust with longsuffering, but honestly, I feel a tantrum brewing.
Lord, You are my light and my salvation. Your mercy is everlasting and Your truth endures to all generations. I trust You — I really do. I’m learning to trust with longsuffering, but honestly, I feel a tantrum brewing.
I’m growing impatient.
How Do I Trust God When My Heart feels Unsure?
I walked along our mountain road, heavy thoughts filling my mind. Future days are filled with the unknown as my husband and I travel a path marred by his dementia. How do I trust God with my heart when it is breaking and everything seems so uncertain?
I found myself lost in memories.
Prayer: Overflow With Kindness Fruit, But My Flesh is Rotten
Lord, I love You so much and my greatest desire is to honor You — to glorify You in my life. I want to overflow with kindness, to take Your love into a hurting world, but Lord … some days my flesh is just plain rotten!
I know it. I recognize the attitude simmering just below the surface …
Where is God When Life is Hard & Faith Wrestles With Soul?
I grabbed a fresh cup of coffee, it’s hefty aroma calling to me from an ocean of deep thoughts. The question, Where is God when life is hard? tormented me. I couldn’t find peace.
Settling onto the porch swing, I tried to relax in the presence of the tall, graceful day-lilies swaying rhythmically in the breeze.
Prayer to Dance in the Rain But You’re Slipping in Mud
Lord, I know that I know You are my source of joy. There is absolutely nothing better than being in Your Presence where joy is unspeakable and cherished. Your joy makes me want to dance in the rain as I rejoice in Your love, but … there’s always a but, isn’t there, Lord?
But life is muddy sometimes and my happy feet slip in the mud and down I go — back into the pit, stuck in the miry clay.
