Holding Onto Hope but My Grip is Slipping

“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps His promises!” ~ Hebrews 10:23, TPT

“But in the depths of my heart I truly know
    that You, Lord, have become my Shield;
You take me and surround me with Yourself.
    Your glory covers me continually.
    You lift high my head.
I have cried out to You, Lord, from Your holy presence.
You send me a Father’s help.
(Pause in His presence)

So now I’ll lie down and sleep like a baby—
then I’ll awake in safety, for You surround me with Your glory.
Even though ten thousand dark powers prowl around me,
    I won’t be afraid.” ~ Psalm 3:3-6, TPT

How Do I Keep Holding Onto Hope?

Lord, my hope is found in You. This I know and I rely upon — You remain faithful. My heart is holding onto hope, but I’m fighting to keep my grip from slipping.

holding onto hope but my grip is slipping

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You promise to deliver us from them all. Fiery trials are on every side, uncertain futures frighten me. The rise in the work of the evil one across this land makes me want to cower.

But I won’t. I won’t cower.

I will walk in the power of Your might. Help me keep my eyes on You and not the growing darkness. Help me hear Your whisper of affirmation and wisdom and instruction.

I’m holding onto hope — I’ve got a firm grasp on Your hand and I’m not letting go. Greater are You in me than he that is in the world. You are greater. You are mighty And You are faithful. I’m so thankful You’ve allowed me to know You — the God in whom I believe.

Nothing can compare to Your great love. There is no other god besides You, Lord

I Will Walk in Courageous Hope

Therefore I am holding onto hope for a better tomorrow, for Your promises are true. Regardless of what unfolds in the world around me, I will remember Your sovereignty over all the earth, and I will take courage. I will walk in courageous hope because, regardless, You remain faithful, You are still good.

In the Name of Jesus I pray,

Amen — let it be so
