His name is Wonderful — beyond comprehension!

Jesus … Jesus … Jesus.

There’s just something about that Name.

Master, Savior, Jesus … like the fragrance after the rain …

The words flowed easily from my lips as Blue and I trudged along the country road, faces to the wind. This powerful song has ministered to me in astounding ways over the years because of the simple Truth it holds.

There really is something about that Name.

And now, here’s the nugget of gold the Lord helped me dig up …

Judges 13 is the story of Samson’s conception and birth. The Angel of the Lord had appeared to Samson’s mother and to his father, Manoah, to tell them they would conceive and bear a son who would deliver Israel from the hand of the Philistines.

Manoah asked the Angel of the Lord, “What is Your name, that when Your words come to pass we may honor You?”

“And the Angel of the Lord said to him, ‘Why do you ask My name, seeing it is wonderful?” ~ Judges 13:18

His name is wonderful, meaning “beyond comprehension.”

His. Name. Is. Beyond Comprehension.

Let that sink in.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful [beyond comprehension], Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” ~ Isaiah 9:6

And His Name shall be called Jesus.

There’s something about that name.

His love is beyond comprehension

And the list goes on.

His name is beyond comprehension.

Do you know my Jesus? His love is magnificent, His peace is what keeps me sane when everything around me is crumbling. Because of Him, I am not alone in my difficult place.

John writes in John 20:31, “these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

… believing, you may have life in His name.

What an amazing thought!

Yes, when we believe, we have eternal life because of Jesus. But consider the life — the abundant life — we have because of Jesus.

Abundant peace is ours, we have hope in the face of despair, courage in the face of fear, strength in the face of weakness.

The name of Jesus is beyond comprehension.

Will you call upon His name in your difficult place?

You will find Him Faithful and True.
