If we will be still before Him, quiet in His Presence with no distractions … and listen, we will hear and know His voice. Jesus promised we would.

“They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.'” ~ Zechariah 13:9

Lord, You have called us Your sons and daughters. You have allowed us to call You Abba, Father — our Daddy God — when You adopted us into Your family. That in itself carries us across the abyss between earth and Your heavenly places.

That, in itself, allows us a personal audience of one with the Maker of heaven and earth.

That, in itself, is amazing, and I thank You for making a way for us to know You — not just about You, but know You intimately.

When we need answers from God we can approach Him boldly because of Jesus.

What a miracle, Lord!

Help us imagine Your brilliant throne of grace and our physical encounters with You, the One True God. Open our eyes to see! We have the privilege of coming before You boldly with every need of our heart.

My faith rises just thinking about that Lord — it helps me not feel alone in my difficult places because I know that I know that You hear the cries of my heart and I thank You for that.

But it goes both ways, doesn’t it? You not only hear the cries of our hearts, but You have promised us that we will hear the cries of Your heart also — Your instruction, Your gifts of mercy and grace, Your answers to each and every question we have.

Learning to hear answers from God means seeking Him first and hungering after Him as a child.

None are too trivial. None are too massive or difficult. You have promised we would know Your voice and follow You.

You have promised when we seek You with all of our hearts, we will find You.

You have promised when we draw near to You, You will draw near to us.

You have promised to be near the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit.

And in the seeking, the drawing near, and through the intimacy of brokenness, our ears begin to open that we might hear.

Help us accept this truth in faith and not be afraid of hearing the voice of Almighty God — not loud and thunderous, but a delicate whisper deep in our souls. And then to trust that You will make Your response to us clear — if we will listen.

If we will be still before You, quiet in Your Presence with no distractions … and listen.

You are amazing, Lord. Your steadfast love sustains and upholds us. We love You, Lord and we give You praise.

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
