Worship and adore Him, for He alone is worthy of our praise.
A Prayer of Advent

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, [therefore I worship Him] … God shall help her, just at the break of dawn … Be still and know that I am God.” ~ Psalm 46:1,5,10

Lord, You are the Great King, Almighty God, our Prince of Peace. We worship You, Lord — we worship and adore You.

Turn my eyes on You, away from the difficulties, the broken places. Whisper my name, and I will come running. Shine Your light in my darkness and I will rejoice, for You are my God.

Lord, I choose simplicity this Christmas. I choose to seek You first, to cease striving, to be still and remember that You are God. I choose to worship You — not just in joyful praise, but in the attitude of my heart as I draw closer to You.

I Choose to Worship You, Lord

Open my eyes to see You, Lord.

Open my ears to hear Your words of wisdom, of guidance … of love.

Lord, I want to worship you with the wonder of a child.
Lord, I want to worship you with the wonder of a child.

Remind me who I am, especially during this Christmas season. I belong to You — I am Your child because of Jesus.

The miracle of His birth should never be so familiar that we take You for granted and dilute the wonder of Your Word clothed in skin, wrapped in swaddling clothes, come to earth to set us free from the chains and misery of sin.

Thank You for making a way for us to know You.

Stir within us the wonder of a starry-eyed child gazing at the baby Jesus in a manger for the first time.

Take us back to the place where we first met You, where we first experienced the washing of Your love, the forgiveness of our sins, the majesty of Your Name.

May we never forget!

May we never allow the world’s celebration to snuff out the wondrous redemptive work on this earth — that complete work that began in a lowly manger so many years ago.

Christmas Began in a Manger, Not a Mall

You are magnificent, Lord. Thank You for pursuing us with Your love until we turn and come face-to-face with You, overwhelmed by the power of Your love. We worship and adore You. We praise and magnify Your Name.

You are loved, Lord.
