Then Elisha prayed, 'O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!' The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire." ~ 2 Kings 6:17

“I know God gives me all that I ask for
and brings victory to His anointed king.
My deliverance cry will be heard in His holy heaven.
By His mighty hand miracles will manifest
through His saving strength.
Some find their strength in their weapons and wisdom,
but my miracle deliverance can never be won by men.
Our boast is in the Lord our God,
who makes us strong and gives us victory!”
~ Psalm 20:6-7, TPT

“When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. ‘Oh, sir, what will we do now?’ the young man cried to Elisha. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes and let him see!’ The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.” ~ 2 Kings 6:15-17, NLT

Chariots of Fire … Really?

Lord, this walk of faith is hard sometimes. It’s full of perils and hardships, unknowns and very difficult places.

But it’s not unknown to You.

I must remember that!

You teach us to walk by faith and not by sight, but some days that is hard. Not impossible, but hard. We search the heavens for chariots of fire coming to our rescue, but see only mopeds dotting the landscape.

Mopeds of our own strength.

Mopeds of our own will and provision.

You, Lord, send chariots of fire! Mighty. On mission. Full of glory and awe ...

But You, Lord, send chariots of fire! Mighty. On mission. Full of glory and awe … because they come from Your hand — Your strength, Your provision, Your amazing love.

And not our own.

Open our eyes to see!

I choose to believe You and take You at Your Word. I choose to open my eyes — to LOOK for You with expectation. Because I know You are answering my cry.

I know You are coming to my rescue.

I know I can trust You to be faithful.

Open Our Eyes, Lord

When I see mopeds instead of chariots of fire, remind me who blinds my eyes to Your Truth and give me the gumption and tenacity to rebuke him in Jesus’s Name. Make me angry enough to look Satan in the eye and give him the what-for because I am YOUR child and I stand behind Your Word. When I mention Your Name, he must flee.

And take his moped with him.

Thank You for the victory, Lord. Thank You for Your mighty presence in my life, and for Your tender watch-care over me. Thank You for opening my eyes that I might see Your chariots of fire standing guard.

I love You, Lord. You are my everything.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,

Amen
