Lord, I want to trust Your plan.

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

“Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!” ~ Psalm 27:13-14, NKJV

Teach Me to Trust Your Plan

Lord, You are good and so very faithful. I stand amazed by Your love. Teach me to trust Your plan even though I can’t see the path clearly.

Your ways are not my ways.

Your thoughts are not my thoughts.

Those truths make it hard to understand sometimes. But this I know: You are for me and not against me. Your Word to me will not return to You void — it will accomplish that for which You sent it. I need only to trust Your plan for me and lay it at the foot of the cross.

I need to trust Your plan and wait on You with childlike faith while You put all the pieces in place.

I need to trust Your plan and wait on You with childlike faith while You put all the pieces in place.

But it’s hard, Lord … this in-between place.

I know the words You have spoken to my heart and, in my mind’s eye, I see the result. I know Your thoughts toward me are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope. In my heart I trust Your plan … but in my mind I’m all over the place because I keep trying to figure everything out.

I’m overthinking, Lord. That’s it! I’m overthinking rather than simply placing my trust in Your plan and leaving my focus there. Please forgive me.

I Yield to Your Authority, Lord

Let faith arise in my heart! Help me rest in the moment with You and not get ahead of the plan, but simply watch it unfold in Your time and in Your way. I yield to Your authority — make me pliable in Your hands as I wait on You.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,

Amen
