He provides us with a green pasture and still waters when we need His rest.

He provides us with a green pasture and still waters when we need His rest.

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake. ~ Psalm 23:1-3

Lord, I love You and I praise Your holy Name, for You are good. Always. Even when life is hard, You are good and merciful and kind.

Many of Your children are suffering relentless assaults from the enemy and we are tired. We need rest. The wonderful thing is knowing that YOU know this — You are El Roi — the God who sees and knows all about it. You are not aloof and far off. You, Lord, are right here!

Open our eyes to see You. Awaken our hearts to remember Your faithfulness and Your promises.

You are calling us to draw near — to seek You first in all things, because it is in Your Presence that we find rest and joy unspeakable. It’s in Your presence that we have reprieve from the prince of this world, the enemy of our soul.

Oh, how I hate him and his destructive ways.

We long for green pastures where grass is tender allowing Your sheep to eat without struggle, and where they are secure in the knowledge of their Shepherd. We long for quiet waters, waters of rest — menuchah — still waters.

Calm our spirits Lord.

For the mom fighting fear for her children — bring courage and peace.

For the one whose family is severed — bring unity.

For the husband who has strayed — bring forgiveness and restoration.

For the cancer bringing destruction and death — bring deliverance and healing.

For the empty bank account — bring provision.

Lord, YOU are our everything.

We are in this world, but not of this world. This world does not dictate who we are, You do. WE are Yours, heir to Your kingdom. In You, we find peace. In You, we find rest. In You, we find provision. And in You, we find healing.

In You.

You are the green pastures. You are the waters of rest. Help us understand this, Lord. We cannot wish away hardships. You told us that in this world we will have tribulation, but You have overcome the world. You are our victory.

But we must seek You first. We must return to our first love. We must choose You above all things.

And we do.

We choose You. Blessed be Your holy Name!

In Jesus’ Name I pray,

Amen
