He taught us the sound of His voice the day He called us to salvation.

He taught us the sound of His voice the day He called us to salvation.

“… and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” ~ John 10:3, NLT

Lord, I am amazed that You — the Maker of heaven and earth and all that dwells within — that YOU know me by my name! How can that be? And yet, I know it to be true. I have heard Your delicate whisper deep within my soul whispering, “Nan … Nan, come to Me.”

Learning to listen for the voice of God.

Learning to listen for the voice of God.

Yes, my spirit has recognized Your still, small voice.

What joy fills my soul when I consider this Truth.

What comfort and peace, reassurance, and intimacy with my Lord.

You are amazing.

I pray for those who desire to know You more. Stir within them, Lord. Awaken their spirits to recognize Your Presence — yes, open their ears to hear Your voice calling their name.

Return to them the joy of their salvation — remembrance of that remarkable moment when they met You face to face.

Why? How?

Because You called them by their name and drew them to Yourself.

That simple. It’s not complicated.

The Deceiver would have us think it’s complicated to walk closely with You. He would tell us it is ludicrous to hear the voice of God calling our name deep in our spirit.

Of course, he would tell us these things! He doesn’t want us to have an intimate relationship with You.

But oh how sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word …

Lord! You promised we would know Your voice. Again I ask that You take those who question back to their day of salvation where they said, “Yes, Lord” because they heard You call their name.

Wow! What an amazing thought.

What a beautiful memory.

May we never forget the moment You first held us in Your arms and opened our eyes to see Your nail-scarred hands. Fill them with reassurance, with knowledge of Your Truth. Cause faith to rise in their souls.

You are such an awesome God. Thank You for being who You say You are. Thank You for being a God on whom we can depend.

We love You, Lord.

In Jesus Name I pray,

Amen
