I release praise to You, Lord, for You alone are worthy of all praise.
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Again there shall be heard in this place of which you say, “It is desolate … [you will hear] the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say:”Praise the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for His mercy endures forever” — and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord, for I will cause the captives of the land to return as the first,’ says the Lord.” ~ Jeremiah 33:10-11
Lord, You are mighty to save, to deliver me from all my troubles. You hung the stars in place, You tell the ocean how far it can come — nothing is too hard for You; You do all things well.
And yet, my suffering remains.
And my heart hurts.
And my mind drives me crazy with restless thoughts.
Where are You, God, when everything falls apart?
Why are you discouraged my soul, when you know the One who loves you ? When you know the reality of His abiding presence to be true?
Forgive me, Lord. Forgive me for taking my eyes off You. Forgive me for forgetting Your faithfulness. Your mercy and grace sustain me. Your compassion undergirds me with tender care. Your presence strengthens me, protects me, and guides me through these difficult days.
You, Lord, alone are worthy of my praise! I have come to know that even when I can’t trace Your hand — when I don’t understand my circumstances — I can always trust Your heart. Always.
And for that I give You praise –not for my circumstances, but for You — for who You are. You are my Refuge, my Shelter in the storm. You are my comforter, Deliverer, my Peace. You are all I need.
I bring the sacrifice of my praise to You and lay it on Your altar as an offering. Receive my offering, Lord, and return me to the joy of my salvation.
May my lips praise You, and the meditations of my heart be a blessing to You, O my Lord.
