“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.” ~ Psalm 34:15,17-19, NKJV
“Send out Your light and Your truth;
let them guide me.
Let them lead me to Your holy mountain,
to the place where You live.
There I will go to the altar of God,
to God—the source of all my joy.
I will praise You with my harp,
O God, my God!” ~ Psalm 43:3-4, NLT
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.” ~ Romans 5:3-5, NLT
My heartache gives way to anguish
Lord, my soul longs for Your touch, for Your presence — Your light in my shadows of heartache. Some days I am overwhelmed by the sorrow that comes with difficulties — the anguish and feelings of hopelessness.
I know You are well acquainted with suffering, and for that I am thankful. I’m thankful because You understand my heart. My suffering, my heartache, pales in comparison to others, and yet my spirit is troubled, and I lack peace.

But then I remember: You are my peace … You are my hope for a better tomorrow, and my light on the darkest of days. And You are with me always.
Be my song in the night — let it burst forth from the depths of my being as I remember Your goodness. As I remember Your love and Your abiding presence. Send out Your light and Your truth, and let them guide me as I seek Your face in my difficult places.
Open my eyes to see You in the shadows of my heartache. You are there. I know this to be true, for You promised to never leave me, nor forsake me. When I’m at my lowest, You raise me up into Your arms and hold me near to Your heart. You draw near to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit.
You are my peace, my hope for a better tomorrow
And You carry me when I am too weak to make it on my own.
Dispel my darkness with Your glorious light. Kindle Your fire within me once again, Lord. Let it blaze bright for Your glory.
For You are my God and I am Your child. I’m so thankful for You.
In Jesus’s Name I pray,
Amen ~ let it be so
