“There the Israelites sang this song:
“’Spring up, O well!
Yes, sing its praises!'” ~ Numbers 21:17, NLT
“Jesus answered her, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.’” ~ John 4:13-14, AMP
Spring Up, O Well
Lord, even though You are my peace, my sure place, the One who orders my steps … I find myself overwhelmed. I need You to spring up, O well.
I recognize I’m trying to do everything myself, in my own strength, in my own way. That’s where the problem is, isn’t it? That’s why I’m dry and parched — thirsty for Your living water.
It is abundantly available to me, Lord. Why, O why, would I choose to do things myself? Why would I choose the hard way over the blessed way?
Please forgive me. Spring up, O well — I’m ready to drink from Your life-giving resources. Spring up, O well and overflow into all the weary and worn places of my soul.
Let me drink long from Your well of living water. Saturate me from Your exhilarating fountain. Anoint me with a fresh anointing to do Your will, to accomplish the work of my heart and hands.
Fresh anointing.
Renewed strength and resolve.
Refreshed soul.
Spring up, O well of God and make me whole again.
In the Name of Jesus I pray,
Amen — let it be so

Faith
Oh, sweet Faith, I am so sorry you are going through so much. Two things are coming to mind as I pray about how to encourage you. First, is one of my go-to Scriptures when I am overwhelmed: 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” Isn’t that beautiful? Our God … our MIGHTY God … is tender in His watch-care for His children. He is engaged in our struggles and, even when we can’t see it, He is working on our behalf as we trust in Him. Second, perhaps my favorite name of the Lord is El Roi, The God Who Sees Me and Knows All About It. This name was revealed to Hagar in Genesis 16 when the Lord FOUND her in the wilderness alone and afraid after being exiled from the family camp. “The Lord FOUND her” implies that He was SEEKING after her, just like He seeks after us in our difficult places. I am asking the Lord to open the eyes of your heart to see Him there with You. He is a shield about you. He is Jehovah-jireh, your Provider. He is Jehovah-shalom, the Lord your Peace. I encourage you to give out of your need, even if it’s something like 50 cents. If the Lord asks you to help someone else, don’t hesitate. Give it as an offering and ask Him to multiply it back as you trust Him to meet your own needs. Speak the Name of Jesus often. He responds to the sound of His Name and draws near. I am adding your name to my prayer journal and will continue to pray for you and your family. You may contact me directly at nan@nanjones.com if you need me, ok? The Lord would say, “Look up, child! He will rescue you.”
