“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” ~ Psalm 46:10, NKJV

I Love Your Presence, Lord
Lord, You call to me and I come. I love Your voice. I love Your presence — I want to spend time with You. Teach me to be still. I’m like a twitching squirrel with my mind going all over the place. Distractions pull me in all directions, interrupting my focus, and even interrupting our conversation.
I am so sorry, Lord. Please forgive me. Help me be vigilant to disregard the distractions that are surely a strategy from the enemy. Bring my thoughts captive to You. Rein in their restlessness. I want my focus to be on You alone.
Teach me to be still, Lord. Not just my body, but my mind and spirit also.
In the stillness is where I discover who You are. In the stillness, I experience the depth of Your love. I can hear Your voice clearly and learn from You.
Distractions must go, in Jesus’ Name. They are relentless, and I’m like a twitching squirrel trying not to miss any of them. The things I don’t want to do, I do. And the things I do want to do, I don’t! Paul must have known how hard this is, too. Oh, Lord, teach me to be still!
Today, I choose to remove all distractions before I come before You, Lord. I will remove them before they have a chance to succeed. And in the very beginning of our conversation, I will ask You to take hold of my thoughts so they won’t chase after rabbit trails and take my attention away from You.
Teach Me to Be Still, God
You are my God. I want to honor You with the respect You deserve. Thank You for wanting to spend time with me. Thank You for stirring a hunger within me for Your Word and a hunger to know You more. I”m so appreciative. I love You, Lord.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen

Sweet blessings to you,
Nan, I relate quite well to what you’ve written here. Yes, my thoughts tend to spin out of control and/or go all over the place, so squirrel-like. It impacts everything; it’s so exhausting to try and capture all those thoughts and bring them captive to the captivity in Christ.
Blessings!
Thank you for stopping by, Kim. It’s so good to know I’m not alone with this struggle. This post seems to be resonating with many people. Sweet blessings to you, Nan
