You Are My Light in the Darkness
Lord, what would I do without You? On my darkest days You are the light in my darkness, the song in my night. You give me peace when there is none to be found.
Sometimes the world tries to drown You out — sometimes I let it. In the quiet of the night, my thoughts grow restless and try to consume me. Help me hear the melody of Your song in the night.
I know it’s there because You promised. Open my ears to hear You, Lord. Awaken my heart to worship You, especially in the difficult places.
When I remember who You are — when I remember You call me daughter, I can’t help but thank You. My heart overflows as I remember Your faithfulness to me. Your Holy Spirit soothes me like a healing balm and I can, once again, hear Your delicate whispers.
Your song in the night ripples across my spirit as You quiet me with Your love. I can hear its lovely melody reassuring me, bringing beauty to my ashes, joy to my sorrow.
Call me to Your side, Lord, and I will come. Help me be still and remember that You are God. I have no need to fear an uncertain future because You are with me — You’re my song in the night. I lift my voice in praise to join You in song. This is where I will be set free from worry and the enemy will no longer have a hold on me.
Your Song in the Night Fills Me With Peace
Thank You, Lord. What a mighty God You are! Thank You for taking my hand as I stretched it out to You, groping in the dark, searching for Your familiar touch. You are wonderful Lord.
