An appropriate reflection of God’s faithfulness from last spring: our hope is among us, found only in Him …
Hope is Among us. His Name is Jesus
I rounded the bend along the country road, my shoulders sagging beneath the heavy burdens of my heart. Hope was missing. Despair flourishing … my feet merely shuffled along. My thoughts were many — fears of an unknown future exploding within the darkened corners of my mind.
Sunlight glimmered in a small puddle up ahead. When I reached the puddle’s edge, it stirred with life. A dozen or so swallowtails had gathered for a drink and respite from the heat. My approach scattered them in a blaze of yellow which lifted all about me. Several circled before rising toward the heavens. Others rose in a delicate flight to the milkweed blooms nearby.
My heart skipped with delight at this graceful dance before me. Circling, rising, falling — floating upon the wings of the wind.
I felt the corners of my mouth turn up into a much-needed smile and from a very deep place within came the words, “Hope is among us.”
I felt the warmth of my Savior as He embraced me with His sweet Presence.
Hope.
As long as there is breath, there is hope for the child of God. For as far as the east is from the west, so is His great love for us. His eyes roam to and fro across the face of the earth seeking those who are devoted to Him who need to be encouraged. Our God is a God of impossibilities, for nothing is too difficult for Him. He is faithful. Merciful. And good.
Yes, hope is among us. And when the world would attempt to strip us of our joy and our peace, when the enemy of our soul would attempt to wear us down with fears and distractions, our Lord breathes hope into our barren places.
From Deep Within Came the Words, “Hope is Among Us.”
Mesmerized, my eyes followed the heavenly messengers of soft yellow as they danced on a song of hope displayed just for me. Their buttery wings opened and folded again and again, lifting them on the gentle breeze of God’s Presence.
And with each wingspan unfolding into the afternoon light, hope rose within me, for I knew beyond a shadow of doubt that my God is with me.
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him.” ~ Psalm 62:5

Sweet blessings to you,
I always know there is “ hope in crisis “ which is my mantra during my chaplaincy meetings with people who are hurting. Whether it’s natural disasters, or COVID it is all a crisis. What are we without HOPE!
You are so correct. Our God is a God of hope who promises to be near us in our heartbreaks and when our spirits are crushed. I love His goodness and His tender watch-care over His children. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Thank you Nan so much for your post, they are so uplifting and encouraging to me. I pray that God will continue to bless you and your ministry.
Hope to see you at the campground clubhouse again this summer. Good Bless You
