“This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells]…” ~ Hebrews 6:19, AMP
“For there is hope for a tree,
If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And that its tender shoots will not cease.
Though its root may grow old in the earth,
And its stump may die in the ground,
Yet at the scent of water it will bud
And bring forth branches like a plant.” ~ Job 14:7-9
The Lord is Our Anchor in the Storm
Lord, You are our sure place, our constant heartbeat in an unsure world. You are faithful. You are trustworthy.
You are God.
I’m so thankful for the knowledge of Your grace. I’m so thankful for Your unending love.

Hold us together, Lord — as a people, hold us together. Be our anchor in the storm.
Hold fast to our hands as the world seems to crumble around us — pandemics, riots, political discord …
Yet, You remain the same.
You are our Anchor that steadies our lives and calms our restless hearts.
You are our hope.
Cause the roots of our faith to dig deep to seek out and tap into the stream of Your Living Water hidden beneath the turmoil of our day. Remind us of Your steadfastness. Draw us to Your side like the root of the oak tree is drawn to the underground stream hidden in the darkness.
The Anchor Steadies our Lives and Calms our Hearts
Thank you for being the Anchor that holds in the storm.

You are with us, Lord. You are for us. And You will bring eternal good and purpose out of the chaos.
Mend the broken hearts, Lord. Restore unity in our nation, in our families, in our communities. Guide us with Your wisdom on how to shine Your light into the darkness, Your love into the hatred.
Make us brave.
In Jesus’s Name I pray,
Amen

Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love for you to share what’s on your heart in the comments below. Scroll a little farther down and you’ll see where you can leave your comments. Together, we can find the nearness of God in our darkest moments.
Sweet blessings to you,
Thank you for posting. Was feeling down in the dumps, scrolling through IG…came across a post re Hebrews 6:19. Started reading different Google posts. Stumbled upon your blog. You outlined a prayer I needed at the right moment.
Bless your heart. I’m so sorry you are struggling. It seems like during the holidays, wounds grow deeper, sorrows more raw. I’m so thankful the words of my heart ministered to you. I pray over each blog post, asking the Lord to draw those to my website who need to be encouraged by the hard lessons I have learned. Find comfort in knowing that the Lord is the God-Who-Sees and knows all about it … and He cares. He truly draws near to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit. I will add you to my prayer journal (as anonymous) and will continue to pray for you. Sweet blessings, Nan
Praise God! I love when the Lord meets our needs like that. I pray over each post that it will reach the ones God intends it for. Thank you for letting me know that this ministered to your heart. Isn’t the Lord faithful?
