My life is built on the Rock of Christ

 “I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” ~ Luke 6:47-49, NLT

“And He will be the security and stability of your times,
A treasure of salvation, wisdom and knowledge;
The fear of the Lord is your treasure.” ~ Isaiah 33:6, AMP

I Sure Am Glad My Life is Built on the Rock of Christ

Lord, how easily I belt out, On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand … I have done my best over all these years to live this Truth out loud. I’m built on the Rock, for sure, but goodness gracious, I’ve been taking a beating lately.

My life is built on the Rock of Christ.

As have many of Your children.

I’m thankful to know that You are El Roi, the God who sees me and knows all about it. I’m thankful that Your eyes roam to and fro across the earth looking for those who love You who need to be encouraged and strengthened.

The wind is howling across all the earth as it shakes and quakes from the darkness pressing against its core. As Your children, we are aware, and yet miraculously I, for one, have found Your peace. And grace. And courage.

I speak the same to these my sisters and brothers.

I’m built on the Rock of Christ, a solid foundation, a sure place. When I sense fear tapping on my shoulder, I duck beneath the shelter of Your wing where no harm can touch me. You are my refuge, a shield about me, a strong tower beneath me — a tower built on the Rock.

God’s Love Will Sustain and Preserve Me

When all around me is sinking sand, on Christ the Solid Rock I stand. I will not be afraid of an uncertain future because You are with me, and You are for me. Your love will sustain and preserve me. Thank You for Your perfect peace. Thank You for Your faithfulness.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray,

Amen — let it be so
