“Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.” ~ Ezekiel 37:4-5, NKJV
“I stand silently to listen for the One I love,
waiting as long as it takes for the Lord to rescue me.
For God alone has become my Savior.” ~ Psalm 62:1, TPT
“Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to Me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with Mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in Me.” ~ Matthew 11:28-29, TPT
Just Breathe on Me, Lord
Just breathe on me, Lord, and my strength will be renewed. Cup my face in Your hands and resuscitate my weary spirit with Your breath of life.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You promise to deliver us out of them all. You warned us that in this world we would have tribulations — times of crushing, chaos, and confusion — but to be encouraged because You have overcome the world.
Praise You, Lord! We believe these things to be true. We hold fast to them!
But!

But sometimes our eyes drift away from You and focus on things of the world. Sometimes it feels like the chaos of the world is coming at us like a tsunami and we’re drowning, unable to just breathe.
Or the incessant dribble from the news, the empty shelves of toilet paper and chicken, the interruptions of beloved family traditions … Lord, help us! It’s a lot day in and day out with no relief.
I’m reminded that YOU are our exceedingly great reward! It is in YOU that we live and move and have our being. Stir a desire in us to seek You more, to make You our first love once again. For in You, there is peace. In You, there is joy unspeakable. In You, there is contentment.
You alone satisfy the longing soul.
When We Rest in the Lord, We Are Able to Just Breathe
Open our ears that we may hear You calling us to Your side. Draw near to us, Lord. Meet us in our difficult place and renew our troubled, exhausted spirits. Open our eyes to see You in all Your glory, and may Your light consume the darkness that troubles our minds.
Help us breathe — just breathe — as we jump off the gerbil wheel, be still and remember that You are God.
In Jesus’s Name I pray,
Amen
