” … they are at their wit’s end. Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet … ” ~ Psalm 107:27-31
Lord, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You have promised to deliver us out of them all. Thank You, Father.
I depend upon Your promises. You are not a man that You should lie.
Only You can settle my restless heart.
You are my Peace — my anchor in this storm.
You make me brave when I want to turn and run far, far away. You enlighten the eyes of my heart so that I might gain insight and understanding from Your perspective.
I’m grateful for that, Lord. Really, I am.
But honestly, many days I am tossed to and fro by the enemy’s ploys.
Many days I listen to his lies.
And many days I allow life’s hardships to swallow me up because I choose to succumb, rather than turn my eyes on You where the things of earth grow dim.
Bathe me in the light of Your glory, Lord. Wash over me with waves of Your unfathomable love.
Steady my restless heart, bringing all my thoughts captive to You.
You are my Shepherd — I shall not want. I have everything I need and more. Search me and know my anxious thoughts. Set me free from those things that haunt me and vie for my attention.
You are worthy of praise. Even when life is filled with difficult and broken places, You remain good, steadfast — my sure place.
I give You my restless heart, Lord, for only in You will I find rest and freedom from my worries.
Only in You.
Bless You Lord.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen
