“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse … Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into His most excellent harmonies.” ~ Philippians 4:6-8, MSG
Stinking Thinking? Guilty!
Lord, thank You for Your longsuffering with us. Your patience is truly amazing, especially when it comes to our stinking thinking.
Why do we do that? Why do we listen to the lies of the enemy, decide to dwell there, and then get our panties in a wad because anxiety takes over? It’s ridiculous that we would fall for Satan’s lies rather then standing firm in Your truth.

Please forgive us.
You are for us, not against us.
You go before us, leading the way.
Your mercy and goodness follow us all the days of our lives.
So clearly You are involved in the lives of Your children and are working everything together for our good, just as You promised.
Bring our thoughts captive to You, Lord. When we grip them tight, unfurl our fingertips so we will let go and release the stinking thinking into Your capable hands. Fill us with the knowledge of Your presence that we might walk in Your grace with eyes focused on You.
When others encounter us, let them encounter the sweet aroma of Christ rising from a life dedicated to You.
What do You require of us, Lord? To love mercy, live justly, and walk humbly with You. That can only be accomplished when we refuse to entertain stinking thinking.
When our eyes are on You, our thoughts are yielded to Your authority, our heart is kept steady, and our feet follow the path of righteousness You have designated for us.
Thank You, Lord.
Our Stinking Thinking is Overcome by the Renewing of Our Minds Through God’s Word
When we confess our sin to You, You are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and welcome us into Your embrace.

In Your embrace, our stinking thinking is overcome by the beauty of Your holiness and made clean. Our mind is renewed through the power of Your Word and the essence of who You are in our lives.
You are Lord. You are sovereign. And You are good.
We love You, Lord.
In Jesus’s Name I pray,
Amen
