“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ~ Ephesians 6:12, ESV
“Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls;
All Your waves and billows have gone over me.
The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
And in the night His song shall be with me—
A prayer to the God of my life.” ~ Psalm 42:7-8, NKJV
“For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’” Isaiah 41:13, NKJV
Sorrow Washes Over Me
Lord, my heart is so troubled. Sorrow washes over me with an agony of heart. Groaning, too deep for words ascend to Your holy hill. When evil abounds, hold my hand, Lord. Wrap me in Your warm embrace of comfort.
As deep calls to deep, I call to You. I ask that the depth of my pain would meet the depth of Your love and I would find peace. I pray the same for everyone impacted by these recent shootings. I pray the same for our nation. Pour out Your grace. Wash over us with Your great love.

Be merciful Lord. Be powerful and restore order to this great land.
Restore righteousness and unity. Call Your people together as a family — red and yellow, black and white. We all belong to You and we all bleed red.
I ask that You take what was meant for evil and use it for good. When evil abounds, rise up, O God, and scatter our enemies.
Sorrow begets despair and hopelessness, but I cling to You because You are my hope and You are the hope of our nation.
Hold my hand, Lord. Let me sense the tangible evidence of Your presence drawing near. Open my eyes that I might see You — that I might recognize You in the difficult places.
When Evil Abounds, Thank You for Being Near
Thank You, Lord. Thank You for being aware of our hurting hearts. When evil abounds, it’s so very hard. Thank You for Your comfort. Thank You for the courage You give us to persevere. Thank You for Your peace.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen
