“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are?” ~ Matthew 6:25-26, NLT
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” ~ John 14:27, NLT
“But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.” ~ Jeremiah 17:7-8, NLT
You Know, Lord and You Care. Why Do I Worry?
Lord, You hung the stars and moon in the sky. You hold the seas in the hollow of Your hands. When a sparrow falls, when Your child cries, You know. You know and You care. So why do I worry? Why do I fret? You are GOD and You love me.
Anything that concerns me, concerns You. I am confident of this as I have found Your favor and blessing in the smallest of things and in the huge needs of my heart and life. You have always been faithful to me. Always.

Sometimes, Lord, when things come at me hard and fast all I see is the difficult circumstance, the surprise trial, the extreme burden too much for me to bear. I struggle to bring my thoughts captive to You. Imaginations tend to run wild before I take authority over them and cast them down. Many times fear seeks to swallow me before I recognize the strategy of the enemy and rebuke him in Jesus’ Name.
You are my helper, Lord — the keeper of my soul. Thank You for Your long-suffering with me. Thank You for teaching me about Your sovereignty. I truly find comfort and security in this knowledge.
But I need to remember this sooner when the flames of trial lap at my feet. I need to acknowledge the strategies of the enemy — how he comes to kill, steal, and destroy, how he roams the earth seeking those he can devour. He works to divide, distract, deceive, and disappoint.

Lord, I know these things. You have taught me well. So why do I worry? Please forgive me. Turn my eyes to You, Lord, away from the difficult place. Let me behold Your glory, to walk in Your grace. Help me be quick to rebuke the enemy and walk confidently in the knowledge that You will never leave me nor forsake me — Your love will never fail.
Our God is Faithful
For You are good. You are faithful. What You say You will do — You do. Who You say You are — You are.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord. For Your love is from everlasting to everlasting. Yours is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. I give You glory Lord and exalt Your Holy Name.
In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen — let it be so.
