My heart is steadfast when I drink deeply from your well of Living Water.

“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know [if my heart is steadfast];
Test me and know my anxious thoughts.” ~ Psalm 139:23
, AMP

“Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58, AMP

” … casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” ~ 2 Corinthians 10:5, NKJV

Crazy Thoughts Pop Out of Nowhere Even Though My Heart is Steadfast

Lord, I love You so much. My greatest desire is to please You, to honor You with my words and actions. My heart is steadfast, but too often my thoughts are not.

Crazy thoughts pop out of nowhere — all the what-ifs, all the reasons for impossibility, inadequacy, and insufficiency.

You have always been faithful to me, Lord. I have no reason to doubt or fear or even question Your will and Your way.

But sometimes I do.

Please forgive me.

When my heart is steadfast but my thoughts are not, help me cast down all imaginations contrary to Your Word and Your way.

Bring my thoughts captive to You, Lord — be Lord over them all. When my heart is steadfast but my thoughts are not, help me cast down all imaginations contrary to Your Word and Your way.

Guide me to Your Word and through its pages rich with life. Stir up a hunger within me.

Call me to come and drink deeply from Your well.

That’s what I need to do, isn’t it, Lord?

On those days when my heart is steadfast, but my thoughts are searching for the nearest cliff, lead me to Your Word to steady my heart once again. I choose to walk by faith and not by sight. I choose to take Your hand, trust You fully, and allow You to lead me in the paths of righteousness You have deemed for my life.

I Choose You, Lord

I choose Your will and not my own.

Thank You, Lord. Bless Your holy Name.

In Jesus’s Name I pray,

Amen — let it be so
